At the rodeo, a fellow student came up to Jared to let him know that a company had mentioned that they are looking to hire him, Jared, and another student for a job located in Maryland and that he (the other student) could let the guys know.
Jared also contacted our local, letting them know that he would be ready for his re-interview ASAP and also that he received an award at graduation--"Most Determined". I'm so proud; he REALLY deserves it! He was approved for the re-interview and we have been waiting, waiting for the letter with a date for it. Nothing yet--it's been about 2 weeks there. Jare also went down to the hall the day after we got home and signed the book to be a possible ground hand in the meantime. No word on that, either.
Most promising, because they've sought him out, is a company in Louisville, Ky. He sent an email inquiry yesterday because they were requesting that he take a pre-employment assessment that he took prior to graduating (and should be accepted without having to retake it since he received a 100%). We're waiting to hear back--the test is scheduled for the 9th of January so hopefully on Monday we'll know what the plan is.
While he was preparing to graduate, the school reminded the guys that this is the hardest time of year to apply due to end of year budgets, etc., and that after the 1st things will pick back up.
Stay tuned!
